Teaching is a second career for Dr. Yager. For almost 30 years she worked as a research scientist in academic laboratories at UC
San Diego, Harvard University and, most recently, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. With a PhD in Bioengineering from UCSD, her research focus was the study of pulmonary airway mechanics, with applications to airway diseases including asthma and cystic fibrosis. She is thrilled to be in the classroom, sharing her passion for science and genuine curiousity about the teenage brain, particularly how to plant the science spark and fill it with useful information. She welcomes any and all contact with parents and students, including during most lunches and often after school.
To stimulate scientific curiousity, and provide a foundation of knowledge about the fascinating world of chemistry that will prepare students for college science and beyond.
